Alpha Lodge Madarao is a very comfortable bed & breakfast style ski lodge with good old-fashioned mountain hospitality.  Alpha Lodge has  7 guest bedrooms with a mixture of very cozy twin single, queen & king beds rooms, all are western beds. We can comfortably sleep 14 guests, and at a pinch we can throw some futons on the floor perhaps for children which could add another 4 beds.

Our guest rooms have stunning mountain and forest views with shared male and female toilet amenities on the same floor just meters away from your room. The shared male / female shower rooms are located on the lower floor, which is also where you find the drying room. The laundry is also on this floor for the convenience of your stay and can be used for a small fee.

Our knowledgeable and experienced staff, are all keen skiers and snowboarders who love Japan for the endless powder days and go the extra mile, to ensure our guests have an amazing snow holiday and can’t wait to return to the comfort, great social atmosphere, and convenience of Alpha Lodge with it’s super close location to the ski area, lifts, and restaurants.

Alpha Lodge has a warm, friendly, and casual atmosphere  There is a spacious and comfortable dining room on the entry-level floor where you will check in.

Next summer we will be doing some large renovations which will include a new bar and comfy lounge area, with a casual TV & games room on this level also. So, we are looking forward to having some energetic table tennis and pool competitions next winter.

Alpha Lodge is also a short walk from Madarao’s restaurant street, which has a number of bars and restaurants offering a great variety of cuisine for you to enjoy after a day on the slopes. Alpha Lodge is fully licensed and our bar is open for apre drinks between 4pm and 7pm each day.

Alpha Lodge Madarao is just an easy 200 meter walk to the lifts. The resort is situated in the northwest area of Nagano Prefecture on the main island of Honshu and approximately just 2 hours from Tokyo on the Shinkansen fast train. The weather conditions are consistently ideal, pumping out a seemingly endless supply of high-quality snow throughout the Japanese winter season from December through to the end of March and sometimes further into April offering skiers and snowboarders a vast and varied terrain with all of 45 groomed and un-groomed runs including Tangram Ski Circus resort area, not to mention the incredible scenery shown below, taken from the top of Mt Madarao looking over into the Myoko Valley
